XLube is a single-ingredient cosmetic powder for external intimate use. Every production lot is independently tested by an accredited laboratory for chemical purity and microbiological quality — and the results are published here.

Key purity figures

  • Result: less than 2.0 milligrams per kilogram. 1,4-Dioxane — below the level our laboratory can quantify, and well under the 10 mg/kg guidance threshold.
  • Result: less than 10 colony-forming units per gram. Total microbial count — with no detectable pathogens in the tested lot.
  • Result: one ingredient. Pure polyethylene oxide. No added sugars, salts, fragrances or preservatives.

What XLube is

XLube is a moisturising powder for external intimate use, made from a single cosmetic ingredient — polyethylene oxide (PEO, CAS 25322-68-3). It is supplied as a water-soluble powder and prepared with water before use. It is placed on the market as a cosmetic product under Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009.

1,4-Dioxane purity

Result: less than 2.0 milligrams per kilogram.

1,4-Dioxane is a trace substance that can occur as a byproduct in the manufacture of polyethylene oxide, so we test for it. In the current production lot it was found below the laboratory's limit of quantification (under 2.0 mg/kg) — well below the 10 mg/kg (10 ppm) guidance threshold. The raw material was independently tested with the same result.

Microbiological quality

Each production lot is tested for microbial purity against pharmacopoeia methods. The current lot passed every limit, with no detectable Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa or Candida albicans.

What's in it — and what isn't

XLube's formulation is deliberately minimal. A single ingredient, prepared with water, gives a gentle, iso-osmolar preparation designed for good skin tolerability.

The results on this page come from SGS Institut Fresenius GmbH in Taunusstein, Germany — an independent laboratory accredited by DAkkS under D-PL-14115-02-02. Testing follows recognised methods: GC-MS to Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 for 1,4-dioxane, and Ph. Eur. / USP methods for microbiological purity. We test every production lot and update these figures accordingly.
